MEET YOUR 2025 DEMOCRATIC CANDIDATES FOR BREVARD

MAYOR

Maureen Copelof

"I'm Maureen Copelof, and I’m running for re-election as Mayor of Brevard. With 30 years of military service and eight years on City Council and as Mayor, I’ve worked to make Brevard safer, stronger, and more connected. Together, we’ve delivered fast disaster response, launched affordable housing projects, secured tens of millions in grant funding for infrastructure and the Ecusta Trail, and improved quality of life through community spaces and transparent government. My focus moving forward is simple: expand affordable housing, strengthen local businesses, and ensure Brevard remains a safe, family-friendly community where everyone can thrive."

CITY COUNCIL

Dean Lytle

Candidate for Brevard City Council

"I'm running for Brevard City Council because I believe leadership should reflect the people it serves—all of us. I grew up in Brevard, and after years away gaining experience, I’ve returned with a renewed commitment to give back to the community that shaped me. I’m not a career politician—I bring a fresh perspective, a deep respect for this town, and a strong belief that everyone deserves to feel heard and included. My focus is on practical solutions, clear communication, and building trust through action so that progress in Brevard works for everyone, whether your family has been here for generations or you’ve just begun to call it home."

Doug Miller
