Join us for a March For Roe!
💙 Meet at the County Administration building (101 South Broad Street) at 5 p.m. to march in observance of the overturning of Roe v. Wade on June 24, 2022. We will walk up to the Courthouse, around the block, and end up back where we started so we can greet the County Commissioners as they arrive for their 6 p.m. meeting. Please bring your own sign. Here are some message ideas 💙
Two years ago the Supreme Court ruled in Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization — a case involving a challenge to a. Mississippi ban on abortion at 15 weeks of pregnancy. The ruling overturned Roe v. Wade — ending the federal constitutional right to abortion in the United States.
This decision is wrong and does not reflect what we know to be true: ABORTION IS HEALTHCARE. Abortion restrictions and bans fall hardest on people who already face discriminatory obstacles to health care: people of color, people with disabilities, people in rural areas, young people, immigrants, and those having a tough time making ends meet.
We MUST keep fighting for a future where abortion isn’t just legal, but also accessible, affordable, and supported in all of our communities, everywhere.
Abortion is a HUMAN RIGHT.
